Booster Units
Extraction and pressure increase of landfill gas, biogas, sludge gas
Special equipment is used to extract gas from a landfill body and to prepare it for further steps of treatment. The so-called "booster units" increase the pressure of the landfill gas in a way that it is suitable for combustion in flare stacks or for power generation in cogeneration plants (CHP).

HAASE booster units, skid-mounted or fitted into containers
Smaller mobile facilities are fitted into a standard container and consist of a booster unit, a high-temperature flare stack, and an integrated gas analysis system. This equipment can also be placed on a skid or on a concrete slab.
Depending on the required application either side channel blowers, centrifugal boosters, roots boosters, helical blowers, or liquid ring compressors will be used. This is to provide any required pressure, ranging from just some millibar up to 10 bar at a maximum.
Not only the local gas quantities and qualities, but also the required pressure difference are key criteria that will determine which kind of equipment is suitable for the application. Attention must also be paid to the clear difference the choice of equipment makes with regard to investment costs, power supply, and running costs.
